THE HOWLING STORM™ LLC STORY

Located in Wasilla, Alaska, Howling Storm LLC is a sewing repair and custom sewing fabrication business that specializes in outoor sporting gear. 

The start of what is now Howling Storm LLC goes back ten years to when Mark Johnson first turned his industrial sewing skills into a small business.  Originally a sole proprietorship called Canine Adventure Products, Mark specialized in custom dogsled bags and sporting gear repair.  Over the last decade Mark has repaired and custom fabricated  a wide variety of sporting gear and more.  Jobs have ranged in size from zipper replacement and torn tent repair to elaborate custom built anoraks used in the extremes of the Iditarod.  One of the largest fabricated jobs was custom fabricated covers for side dump trailers (40+ feet long).   Custom built dogsled bags for mushers were one of Mark's specialties.  In 2000, Mark had Canine Adventure Products at the Alaska State Fair, test marketing his own unique products.

In the summer of 2007 Mark partnered with friend and sporting enthusiast Todd Mathiesen to form Howling Storm LLC.  With a reinvigorated strategy for repair, custom fabrication, and manufacture of their own unique outdoor products, Howling Storm LLC is providing a service business much needed in their area of Alaska.
